We are currently recruiting for the following positions:

  • With a growing portfolio of transmission and private network assets we are looking for SAPs (Senior Authorised Person) to provide safety from the system for operations, maintenance, construction and commissioning activities at voltages from 11kV to 400kV.
  • The applicant will preferably be holding current authorisation for wind farm/renewable generation at either 33kV, 132kV, 275kV, or 400kV.
  • Be willing to support both onshore and offshore activities and help grow an expanding Operations and Maintenance business within Athena PTS.

  • To undertake electrical installation works in accordance with design and relevant standards. Time served with relevant experience in industrial and commercial installations.
  • Offshore works available for appropriately trained and experienced candidates
  • Undertake inspections, testing and basic maintenance of electrical systems for both onshore and offshore work.
  • CompEx certified applicants preferable but not essential.

  • To undertake electrical maintenance works on industrial and power generation systems. Experience of LV distribution, lighting/emergency lighting systems, trace heating, earthing and lightning protection, VSDs and UPS systems would be advantageous. As would experience in hazardous area installations.

  • To support the execution of electrical maintenance on industrial and power generation systems. Experience of LV distribution, lighting/emergency lighting systems, trace heating, earthing and lightning protection, VSDs and UPS systems would be advantageous.
  • To provide general technical and commercial support.
  • To produce maintenance procedures and plans in line with OEM documentation and good industry practice.
  • To investigate and identify faults and manage repair scopes.

Summary:

Assist the Business Operations Manager in developing, managing and monitoring the QHSE performance of all the company operations, as well as providing advice on safety issues and concerns to all levels of personnel in order to ensure all work meets the statutory requirements as well as industry best practice and company standards.

Ideally the role will be based at the office in Barrow-in-Furness (but this is not a prerequisite) and will entail extensive travel across the UK with some nights away. A full UK driving licence is essential for the role.

Qualifications / Training:

  • NEBOSH General minimum (Diploma preferred).
  • Internal audit qualifications or experience.
  • Experience of ISO Accreditations (implementation and management)
  • IEMA/NEBOSH Environmental or equivalent qualification desirable.
  • Familiar with construction industry and/or renewable energy practices.

Job Outline:

  • Assist with the development and delivery of the QHSE Plan across the business;
  • Drive the safe delivery of projects in line with applicable legislation, through timely and accurate assistance and advice;
  • Assist the Business Operations Manager in the development and delivery of the Internal/external Audit Plan to ensure continual improvement across the business and maintain ISO accreditations etc.;
  • Manage external provider assessment and monitoring to ensure the quality and safety of delivery;
  • Support the Business Operations Manager to undertake Investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) into Non-conformances and safety events;
  • Training and development management of all personnel;
  • Assistance with Document management (document register and authoring of documents).
